Inspiring Bathroom Decor Ideas

Happy Tuesday, guys! How are you all doing? It’s been a busy week for me, but I’m back as always to give you the latest information on all things home and real estate! This week I’d like to share with you a home decor related post on bathrooms. It’s one of my most favorite parts of the house, and if you’re looking to redecorate, you might want to take a look at some of these inspiring design ideas.

Designed by architect Margaret McCurry, this bathroom was inspired by farmhouses in the Midwest, thus the predominantly wooden floors and paneling. It’s a simple, classic approach to bathroom design that everyone can appreciate.

This design by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma certainly adds a calming effect to bathing. The outside view and simple use of space calls for relaxation and rejuvenation. It’s almost like having a spa in your own house!

Does the scenery look familiar? This bath in a 300-year old summer home is rustic but lovely as it overlooks the Sicilian coast in Italy. Designed by architect James Cavagnari, this bathroom will certainly allow you to appreciate the view in a beautiful landscape.

If I had a bathroom like any of these, I’d probably take a bath as much as I eat! Just like good bedrooms prove conducive to a good night’s sleep, a beautiful bathroom can help you to de-stress and wind down from a long, tiring day. Most of us just take a shower, but hot tubs are proven to help even with blood circulation! It’s certainly not a bad idea to invest in expanding and redecorating your bathroom!

Selling a home in a buyer’s market

We all know that with the housing market still recovering, it’s the buyers who are in luck. Nevertheless if you are a seller, you still have the means to get the best price for your home! Check out these tips from Freshome via Yahoo! Homes on how to skyrocket the value of your house.

1. Curb Appeal
Naturally it’s the front of the home that leaves the first impression on a potential buyer. It could be a make or break deal from there, so if you have unkempt lawns, broken windows, or chipped paint, chances are the buyers will be turned off right from the start! A little maintenance goes a long way in uplifting the look and mood of your home.

2. Outdated Rooms
They say the key to a man’s heart is through his stomach–and the same can be said for buyers and kitchens! If you have a dingy or dirty kitchen, the thought of owning your home will be unappetizing, and the same goes with bathrooms! Keeping everything clean and well-lit will leave a favorable impression for potential buyers.

3. Taste Specific Decorating
We all have our own tastes when it comes to decor. What can be a good shade or arrangement for you may be a horrible look for buyers. When renovating or redecorating, try to decide on a more neutral color that more people can appreciate or feel comfortable with.

Hopefully this will be able to inspire you if you’re looking to redecorate or change the look of your bedroom!

The bedroom is arguably the most important part of the house. It’s where you get to rest and relax, and the way your bedroom looks or how it is set up can make all the difference. It can affect your mood and even your health! Here are some design and layout ideas that you can use to best suit your needs and personality.

1. Sophisticated & Cool
Nothing could ever go wrong with keeping things simple and classy. White is a universal backdrop for every color imaginable, so be wise in choosing your colors and distribute them appropriately in your room, as inspired by this serene ocean themed retreat.

2. Small & Cozy
Limited space? No problem. There’s always an art to making things look better, and that is through presence. Embellish your small bedroom with rich details and elegant finishes, as shown in the window treatment and flowing bedskirt.

3. One Color, Endless Possibilities
Got a favorite color? There’s nothing too plain or boring with using one base color for your bedroom. The key here is accents. As shown above, the mirror frames and throw pillows add a nice touch using complementary patterns and soothing textures.
